It has been a long wait but Castle Rock Season 2 finally has an official premiere date. In addition to that, the new teaser for the second season is hyping up the arrival of Misery's biggest fan Annie Wilkes.
The teaser was shared by the official Castle Rock Twitter account and although there isn't any footage, it does confirm that Misery is coming to town. Check it out below.
OK, so it's not really Misery Chastain that is coming to Castle Rock. It's actually Annie, the nurse who is obsessed with the writer Paul Sheldon in Stephen King's novel Misery. Annie will be portrayed by Lizzy Caplan in the series and the mentally unstable nurse is set to be one of the main cast in the second season.
Castle Rock is certainly going for the big scares in the second season if it's going to introduce Annie. After all, the character was played perfectly by Kathy Bates in the film adaptation and is responsible for foot-related nightmares that never seem to go away. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing Caplan's take on the character and how Annie slowly descended into paranoia later on in life.
There is a lot to look forward to in Season 2 considering that Jackie Torrance is planning to do some research on her family history. In addition to that, The Kid is still out there at Shawshank State Penitentiary.
Castle Rock Season 2 will premiere on Hulu on October 23.
