Carrie Fisher's Dog Gary Fisher Celebrates Late Mom's Birthday With Heartwarming Photo


We are all missing Carrie Fisher. However, no one misses the Star Wars legend more than Gary Fisher. The adorable dog who was once Fisher's constant companion has shared a sweet photo featuring his late mom. In addition to that, Gary gave the post a heartwarming caption.

Gary's official Instagram account shared the never-before-seen image of our beloved Princess Leia with her loyal dog. The caption once again confirmed that the sweet pup continues to miss his mom.

"Happy heavenly birthday to my mom. I miss these moments but cherish them as well," the caption read. The post also included the hashtags #garymisseshismom, #garyloveshismom, and #garyloveshisfans.

It's a lovely picture of Gary and Carrie and we're truly grateful that it has been shared. It's a gorgeous remembrance of the duo we loved.

Fisher would have turned 60 on October 21. Several fans celebrated the Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress' birthday.

Gary originally belonged to Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd. Fisher adopted the French bulldog in 2012 to serve as a service dog. Gary helped his mom deal with her bipolar disorder until her passing in 2016. In 2019, Gary moved to Florida with Fisher's former assistant Corby McCoin and is now officially retired.

Although Gary Fisher is no longer living a life in the spotlife, we still get updates from the pooch on Instagram. McCoin makes sure that Gary's 167,000 followers are up to date when it comes to Gary news.

Gary has never appearend in a Star Wars movie. However, director Rian Johnson had paid tribute to the iconic pup. In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, a small dog-like alien appears in the Canto Bight scene. Johnson confirmed that the new character was inspired by Gary.

Fisher passed away in 2016. Gary was with her in the final days of her life.
