Carrie Fisher Honored Through “Self-Rescuing Princess Leia” T-Shirt

Carrie Fisher was an inspiration to many not only as a Star Wars icon and actress, but also as a writer and mental health advocate. A month after her passing, Fisher continues to inspire and give people hope as the Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels voice actress Ahsley Eckstein launches a new t-shirt honoring Fisher's spunky, self-rescuing Princess Leai and her advocacy as a mental health activist.

In her books and her talks, Fisher used to openly admit her struggles with mental health, working with different support organizations and charities to help spread awareness and minimize the stigma that comes with mental health issues. To celebrate her passion and honor her endeavors, Comic Book reports that Eckstein's Her Universe clothing line has just released a new t-shirt featuring the "Self-Rescuing" Princess Leia.

The design shows an assured Leia underneath a series of multicolored strips with the caption "Self-Rescuing Princess" right along the torso- a neat image which shows people how princesses save themselves.

Exclusively sold at the Her Universe website, the "Self-Rescuing Princess" t-shirt comes at a price of $22.90. Proceeds of the t-shirt sales will go to The Thalians, a charity for mental health awareness that was once headed by Carrie's mother, the recently deceased Debbie Reynolds. Purchasing the shirt or gifting it to others can be a great way to honor both Reynolds and Fisher as it not only signifies a positive stance towards mental health but also gives back to the advocacy.
