Captain Marvel's Lashana Lynch Shares Details about Her New 007 in No Time To Die

We already know that there's a new 007 in the latest James Bond film and she's played by the enigmatic Lashana Lynch. But what's the new MI6 agent like? The Captain Marvel star has shared some new details about her mysterious character in No Time To Die.

Back in 2019, it was confirmed that Lynch's character Nomi will be assigned the 007 number after Bond's retirement. Fans were understandably astounded by the revelation that the new 007 is now a woman and Lynch made sure she deserves the designation.

Lynch recently spoke to The Guardian where she revealed that she discussed Nomi's characteristics with screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The two agreed that the character should be portrayed as someone who is capable yet still has some human flaws.

"I said, I want her to be a real woman, but I don't want her work to make her masculine. She's not slick. She has it together, she's highly competent and very highly skilled, but she's a real human being and sometimes she's awkward," Lynch said. She then added that "Bottom line: this woman is going to be relatable."

It's great to know that Lynch made sure Nomi was more than just a tough spy who is determined to keep the 007 designation. It's also amazing how she worked with Waller-Bridge just to ensure that the character will be someone women will be able to relate to. We're loving the fact it's a meaty role for Lynch and we can't wait to see her in action next month.

No Time To Die will be the last film featuring Daniel Craig as James Bond. The film will also bring back Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes. James Bond 25 is now scheduled for release on October 8, 2021.
