This buzz and anticipation over Brie Larson's very first standalone movie as Carol Danvers is definitely a good sign for Captain Marvel and its success. It's taken Marvel Studios more than 10 years to finally deliver a female-led superhero movie, and the excitement over Captain Marvel proves to Hollywood executives and bigwigs that people do want diversity and representation in cinema.

Sure it's taken Marvel quite a while, but after seeing the positive response to Black Panther and to the DC Extended Universe's Wonder Woman, the studio's finally decided to take a chance on a female-led comic book movie of its own.

Here's the brand new synopsis for Captain Marvel:

"Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios' ‘Captain Marvel' is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom."

It's certainly going to be a wild ride for everyone, but we can't wait to see Carol Danvers journey to becoming the "Earth's Greatest Avenger."

Captain Marvel is set to release on March 8, 2019.
