Samuel L. Jackson might have had a pretty long run as Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it looks like the Pulp Fiction star isn't tired of his role yet. If he had his way, he'd continue playing the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director for another 10 years
Jackson is set to reprise his role as Fury in Captain Marvel, and this time, the actor's getting a bigger part in the film (unlike in Avengers:Infinity War where he only returned for the end credits sequence of the movie). Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter for a profile article on his extensive career, Jackson discussed his recurring role as Marvel's Nick Fury and at some point, the actor was asked whether he had future appearances beyond Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Though he didn't confirm that he actually did, the Hollywood icon did say that he wanted to play Nick Fury for another decade, even if it meant taking on the role till his 80s.
"I could be the Alec Guinness of Marvel movies," Jackson told the entertainment news publication.
Lucky for Jackson, it looks like we could be seeing more of Fury in the MCU. The plot points and set photos for Spider-Man: Far From Home seem to indicate the Fury and whatever organization he finds himself connected to in the movie would continue being active in a world after Avengers: Endgame. The only question is for how long. Will we get to see Fury in Phase 4 of the franchise?
Let's wait and see.
Captain Marvel premieres March 8, 2019.
