Despite being a successful movie, Captain Marvel was a divisive film and has even sparked some debate amongst fans on social media. And while it was well-received by most of the audience, the film has earned quite an unfortunate distinction this year.
Based on the Movie Mistakes website, the mistakes spotted in the superhero film totaled up to 59. These errors range from a slight miss in placing names to getting release dates mixed up in some scenes. Amounting to 59 errors, the movie is placed first on the site, which shows that Captain Marvel was the most mistake-filled movie of 2019.
Some of the errors that users pointed out include the wrong URL site that Carol Danvers checked in at an internet cafe. Others include movies placed on the shelf, which haven't been released yet at the time of the scene is actually set in, like the First Knight. Danvers was also seen playing a Street Fighter II arcade game at a bar, but the game was actually released in 1992, whereas she left planet Earth in the year 1989.
That being said, it isn't easy to make movies, especially since this specific film is set at a particular time. It isn't surprising to see errors in Captain Marvel since movies like these will likely miss a few minor details. It is unfortunate that it's named as the most mistake-filled film of 2019. However, this doesn't take away from the fact that the cast and crew gave all their efforts to make the movie possible.
