Captain Marvel: Doctor Minerva/Minn-Erva has been Cast

Black Panther made waves in the box office for being the first MCU film to feature a black protagonist, and fans are now ready to see what Marvel has in store for their first female-lead solo film. News has it that a villain has been cast in the form of Humans' Gemma Chan.

According to Deadline, Chan has been cast as villain Minn-Erva/Doctor Minerva, a Kree spy and scientist who has worked closely with Captain Atlas. We don't know to what extent Minerva will be involved with the story, but I have a feeling she's going to play second fiddle to Ben Mendelsohn's villain.

We don't know that much about the whole story for Captain Marvel, but it has been said by Marvel that the villains will be the Skrulls. Fans had thought that the race belonged exclusively to Fox along with the Fantastic Four, but like the Watchers , Marvel and Fox apparently can share alien races.

With the success of Wonder Woman, a lot of fans are now looking at Marvel to deliver their first female-lead superhero film. You think after 10 years, they would have pumped out something inbetween. Hopefully Brie Larson has the chops to be Marvel's Wonder Woman.

Captain Marvel is set to come out March 8, 2019.
