Captain Marvel Deleted Scene Reveals the Supreme Intelligence's Original Form

Captain Marvel is considered by many to either be a lackluster or solid MCU movie but we can all agree that they made some controversial changes to the canon we knew. Obviously, one of the bigger changes was Mar-Vell being a woman, which annoyed a lot of fans who said they liked the original Captain Marvel (in Marvel Comics at least). Then, there are those fans that were mad about changes made to the Supreme Intelligence, who only appeared to people as someone they looked up to.

It turns out that we almost saw the original Supreme Intelligence in the film, as a deleted scene from Captain Marvel in Marvel's The Infinity Saga box set. The scene is still similar to what we saw in the original film, The Supreme Intelligence trying to manipulate Carol once again before she snaps out of it. This time, we see Danvers blast the Mar-Vell lookalike, who then lands in a pool of water, before reemerging as The Supreme Intelligence we all know and hate.

Honestly, I'm not sure why they didn't keep this sequence since it would have been really cool. The lack of love Captain Marvel gave to The Kree is one of the many criticisms comic book fans had and this could have made it a bit better.

One likely reason this was cut probably has to do with a potential Captain Marvel sequel, which should have an even bigger presence from The Kree. Finally seeing The Supreme Intelligence here would be cool, though a Secret Invasion tie-in would be better. Give us a Super Skrull.

Captain Marvel is now available on Disney+ and Blu-ray.
