Captain Marvel is inching closer and closer to its release date and it looks like the film is already making waves, outselling DC's big guns Wonder Woman and Aquaman in advanced ticket sales.

There's a whole lot of excitement building up over Brie Larson's debut as the world's greatest Avenger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the hype is starting to show in Captain Marvel's advanced ticket sales.

According to The Hollywood Reporter,Captain Marvel has just become the third biggest advanced ticket seller right behind Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. Not only is it beating other Marvel films before it, but Captain Marvel is also pacing ahead of big DC movies, outdoing Aquaman and Wonder Woman's advanced ticket sales at the same point in the cycle.

Right now analysts expect Captain Marvel to also outperform both DC films during its opening weekend. Wonder Woman opened with $103 million at the domestic box office. The film went on to rake in $412 million at the domestic box office and then $821 million worldwide. Aquaman opened with $67 million, raking in $332 million from cinemas in North America and $1.1 billion worldwide.

Early tracking for Captain Marvel puts the film somewhere between $100 to $120 million, and if these numbers are any indicator, the film's definitely going to do a great job during the rest of its cinematic run.

This is definitely good news for Marvel fans. It looks like Captain Marvel is still beating all those trolls that are trying to bring the film's Rotten Tomatoes score down.

Captain Marvel premieres March 8, 2019.
