Production is already underway for the upcoming MCU film Captain America: New World Order which will mark Sam Wilson's first solo adventure as the new Captain America following the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier where he officially took over the mantle.
As usual, the plot remains under wraps, but it is expected to feature another action-packed adventure with the titular hero. It is also unknown yet what "new world order" means pertaining to the story of the film.
However, it looks like we might be seeing some change in the title as notable scooper @CanWeGetToast allegedly claimed on Twitter that the fourth Captain America film will have a new title.
They first tweeted about the film coming to theaters in just about a year using the title "Captain America: Untitled" which prompted some followers to ask them whether the title is going to change.
The scooper responded by confirming that the "Untitled" in their tweet does mean that the title will change. Responding to a follow-up question from a follower, they clarified that the current WGA strike has nothing to do with it.
There is speculation online that the potential title change might be caused by a current real-life geopolitical situation as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping recently pledged to shape a "new world order" in a recent meeting.
It should be noted that this scoop has not been confirmed yet by Marvel Studios nor it was reported by the major trades so we still have to take it with a grain of salt for now.
Considering the circumstance surrounding the current geopolitical situation as fans pointed out, it will not be surprising at this point if they'll change the title to a new one that might not cause any controversy or link to a serious issue that could cause confusion to the audience.
For now, let's just wait and see whether this rumor ends up being true. Marvel Studios still has a lot of time to make some changes to its title if they want to unless it's also potentially affected by the WGA strike.
