Another year, another Call of Duty. For the 2021 outing, Sledgehammer Games is bringing gamers Call of Duty: Vanguard, a WWII-era shooter likely coming Fall 2021. While there is very little official confirmation to go around, major leaks have plagued the Call of Duty community recently, and cross-gen bundle marketing materials for Vanguard have been discovered.

Will Call of Duty: Vanguard Come to PS4/Xbox One and Support Crossplay?

Yes, almost certainly!

On top of the leaks, considering how every major modern Call of Duty has had crossplay and how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are all available on last-gen consoles like PS4 and Xbox One; current-gen consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X; and are available on PC, Call of Duty: Vanguard is all but confirmed to come to the same platforms with the same features.

If the game does come out on older-gen consoles as well as the PS5 and Series X, it's likely that the extra horsepower of the newer consoles will once again enable 120FPS gameplay on those platforms in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Two Call of Duty games that were released on the previous generation of consoles, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, recently got 120FPS support on PS5, a feature that Xbox Series X owners already enjoyed.

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Warzone Reveal Event and Release Date

While official details are currently sparse, leaks also suggest the game is targeting a November 5th, 2021 release date. While this exact day may change, early-to-mid November is when Call of Duty traditionally releases, so it’s likely to not be too far off. Luckily, gamers won’t have long to wait to find out more, because on August 19th Call of Duty: Vanguard’s full, official reveal is taking place within Call of Duty: Warzone.

Like other events in Warzone’s history, this will likely be a one-time thing, so if you want to see the reveal, live, for yourself, make sure to boot up Warzone and load into the ‘Battle of Verdansk’ playlist on 10:30AM PT/1:30 PM ET August 19th.
