Butareba Ending Explained
The title of Butareba Episode 12 is Heat the Liver, and it begins with Jess’ confession and apology toward Mr. Pig, who came to Mesteria thanks to the power of her prayers.
Jess cries as she apologizes for bringing Mr. Pig to Mesteria in a non-human form. The pig, on the other hand, wants Jess to become more selfish and be happier instead.
The pig doesn’t mind that he’s stuck in that form during his time with Jess since they made special memories together.
Jess wants Mr. Pig to stay by her side, but the latter argues that he wants to go back to the real world to not upset the King and allow Jess to become part of the royalty.
Also, Mr. Pig has a life he still needs to come back to in the real world. In the end, Jess agreed, even though it was heartbreaking for her.
Jess and Mr. Pig Hang Out for the Last Time
Jess and Mr. Pig spent the entire day together, roaming around town. They realize that they can still make memories that they can treasure forever. They also took a photo together as proof of their relationship.
Jess put their picture in a locket and said that she would treasure it forever. Mr. Pig is so consumed with happiness that he tells Jess that she is his crush. In return, Jess tells him that she also loves him very much.
The King Frees Mr. Pig’s Soul
Before parting ways, Jess decided to stay with Mr. Pig in his last moments.
With the King’s magic, Mr. Pig died in Mesteria without pain, and his consciousness returned to the real world, where he found himself confined in a hospital bed due to food poisoning.
Mr. Pig’s Life in the Real World
Because Mr. Pig has been hospitalized, he failed to take the exams and had to repeat school for a year. He decided to write an online novel about a man who turned into a pig after eating raw liver, which received some praise.
Mr. Pig thought of his unique experience as a dream, but not for long. He met up with other individuals who claimed that they could return to Mesteria. He realized that Mesteria was indeed real, as their stories matched.
In the epilogue, Mr. Pig successfully returns to Mesteria as a pig (once again) to reunite with Jess.
