Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 finally has an official release date. This comes after it was confirmed that the next season will be released in early 2023.
The fourth season’s January 2023 release date was announced alongside a new trailer that gives fans a taste of what to expect in its highly anticipated return.
This trailer was shared on the show’s official Twitter account and the official Kadokawa Anime YouTube channel.
Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 New Trailer
In case you’re unfamiliar, Bungou Stray Dogs is an anime series by studio Bones (the studio behind My Hero Academia and Mob Psycho 100) that’s based on the manga of the same name by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa.
The manga began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine back in December 2012.
While the manga has been ongoing for nearly a decade now, it currently has only over 100 chapters given its monthly release schedule.
Despite this, the anime adaptation already has three seasons, not including the OVA and spin-off series.

As for its story, Bungou Stray Dogs follows Atsushi Nakajima, an 18-year-old orphan who is kicked out of the orphanage where he lives after he is blamed for strange incidents involving a mystical tiger that has plagued the orphanage.
Atsushi wanders the city after getting kicked out, and he soon happens upon Osamu Dazai whom he helps save from drowning.
Osamu reveals that he has been investigating a mystical tiger that was also terrorizing the orphanage.
Soon, Atsushi, together with Osamu and his partner, Doppo Kunikida, solves the mystery.
Following this, Atsushi is recruited into the agency where they solve various supernatural events that the police cannot handle.

Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 Release Date
While the first two seasons aired in 2016, Season 3 was released in Summer 2019.
After over three years, the show is finally coming back in the Winter 2023 season.
The upcoming fourth season's trailer not only showed a glimpse of the action that you can expect but also previews the new opening and ending themes.
Season 4’s opening theme song is TRUE STORY by SCREEN mode, the music unit that also performed the show’s Season 2 opening.
Meanwhile, the new season's ending theme is Shirushi by Luck Life, the creators of the Season 3 ending.
Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 will premiere on January 4, 2023, at 11:00 PM JST (9:00 AM ET / 6:00 AM PT).
