Bucky Gets COVID-19 Ready In Brand New Marvel Concept Art

Captain America: The Winter Soldier might have given Bucky (Sebastian Stan) a very different look after Captain America: The First Avenger, however, it seems like Marvel was exploring gruffer ensemble when it was developing the film.

Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding just recently took to Instagram to share Bucky's first few designs in The Winter Soldier, and it looks like Captain America's (Chris Evans) best friend would have been ready for COVID-19 had he been given his intensive mask. Bucky even has a chunkier arm in the original concept art for the character.

It's a pretty heavyweight outfit, and it would have probably looked good on screen. Sure, Bucky's ensemble in The Winter Soldier was good, but not all fans were pleased with the character's makeover as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new Winter Soldier.

Since then, Bucky's look in the MCU has had a few changes. In the post-credits sequence of Black Panther, Bucky gets a brand new vibranium prosthetic arm designed by Shuri (Letitia Wright) as a gift from T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman). He's also given the name White Wolf in the 2018 Marvel movie.

Bucky also gets a brand new outfit when he appears in Avengers: Infinity War.

Now, fans are eager to see what Bucky might look like when he fights alongside Falcon (Anthony Mackie) in the highly-anticipated Marvel Disney+ series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2021.
