Spider-Man has been swinging on our movie screens for twenty years now but only Andrew Garfield's iteration of Peter Parker introduced us to his parents Richard and Mary Parker. The RaimiVerse never truly established who Spidey's parents are and the same goes for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, an interesting MCU theory suggests that Peter's parents actually had a tragic past which is somewhat connected to two major deaths in the billion-dollar franchise.

According to a wild theory from Reddit user Xboxgamer15, it's possible that Bucky Barnes, who worked as an assassin for seven decades as the notorious Winter Soldier was also responsible for the deaths of Richard and Mary Parker much like he was responsible for killing Howard and Maria Stark in that fateful day of December 16, 1991. And while we know nothing about the MCU backstory of Peter's parents, the creator of the said theory noted the Parkers' S.H.I.E.L.D. connection in the comics which makes Bucky murdering them somewhat possible.

The theory is definitely plausible but there's one loophole that seems to debunk the entire argument. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier saw Bucky make amends with the people he caused suffering during his time as Hydra's number one assassin and if Peter's parents were actually in the list of the individuals he killed, shouldn't he have made amends with Parker as well?

Meanwhile, Spider-Man: No Way Home is close to surpassing Avatar's box office earnings.
