Marvel star Sebastian Stan is drawing flak over his involvement in Hulu's new series Pam & Tommy which chronicles '90s sex symbol Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee's influential and controversy-filled relationship. A lot of people believe that the show is created in poor taste and shouldn't have been greenlit as it "glorifies" toxic behavior and romanticizes abusive affairs.

Just recently, Sebastian and his co-star Lily James who plays the role of Anderson in the show shocked a lot of people when they admitted during an interview with Josie Gibson on This Morning (via Metro) that they actually watched the couple's infamous sex tape that rocked the world over 20 years ago. According to the actors, they did everything they could to get into their respective roles and that includes studying the said tape for "research" purposes.

Shockingly enough, the revelation only fueled a negative reaction from people and on Twitter, fans blasted both actors, especially the Winter Soldier star for agreeing to take on the controversial project. Check out some of the reactions here:

Anderson herself previously expressed her disappointment over the show being made but Pam & Tommy's creators still insisted on airing it despite her evident disapproval. But backlash aside, the show has been performing well on streaming and was even given a "Certified Fresh" rating by Rotten Tomatoes, generating a favorable 81% on the Tomatometer so I guess people are actually eating it up.

Pam & Tommy's first two episodes are now available for streaming exclusively on Hulu. Meanwhile, Stan is expected to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe return in Captain America 4.
