BTS J-Hope said his final goodbye to his fans on Weverse before his official enlistment, April 18. He also posts on Instagram to share a handwritten message, promising his return.

J-Hope is the next BTS member to enlist after Jin, who enlisted in December 2022. However, he's the first member to start his solo activities when the group went on a hiatus to give way to its members' solo endeavors.

J-Hope's Enlistment

The 29-year-old logged onto Weverse for the last time to greet his fans and say goodbye. He also shared a photo of his military buzz cut, per AllKpop.

On Instagram, he shared a handwritten snap of the words, "I will be back healthy and well," to assure everyone of his safe return.

J-Hope will begin his basic training at the New Recruit Training Center Division A in Gangwon-do. He's set to be discharged around October 17, 2024.

Jimin, Jungkook Prepare for J-Hope's Enlistment

Jimin uploaded a photo with J-Hope on Weverse and captioned it with a purple heart before the latter officially enlisted.

Jungkook, too, quickly returned to South Korea after attending the Coachella 2023 at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, over the weekend. The media spotted the Calvin Klein model at Incheon International Airport.

And as usual, he bowed to everyone and gave the awaiting fans finger hearts to express his love.

There are theories that Jungkook returned to his home country earlier than expected to send off J-Hope for his mandatory military enlistment.

J-Hope Talks About Fans, Military Enlistment

On Friday, J-Hope talked to his fans on Weverse to ask them not to be too upset about his military enlistment, per Hindustan Times.

"What I wanted to tell is to you guys to not worry and I'll go and come back well. 'Please eat well'. Yes of course, as I told you guys, don't worry, I've been eating really well," he said.

He also talked about his fellow BTS members, stating, "Even though many years have passed, my love for the members, just like you guys, I treasure them fiercely."

"They are my bros whom I love so much, even if we compare and stack (my love and your love for the boys) against each other, I might not lose," he continued. "I can't say I'll win, but I won't lose easily."
