BTS And Coldplay’s First Collab Song Wins Big At 2021 NRJ Music Awards

French radio station NRJ announced the best in the French and international music industry on Monday, Nov. 22 thru the 2021 NRJ Music Awards. BTS, as per usual, garnered one major award this year, further cementing them as one of the best K-pop groups there is in recent times.

BTS nabbed the International Collaboration of the Year award for their record-breaking track titled “My Universe.” The said song is Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga, RM, and V’s first-ever collaboration with British rock band Coldplay.

Most, if not all, fans are aware that “My Universe” was released on Sept. 24, 2021, through Parlophone and Atlantic Records. The track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, which became the sixth U.S.-topper track of BTS and the second U.S.-topper track of Coldplay after their 2008 hit-song titled “Viva la Vida.”

BTS and Coldplay’s “My Universe” also debuted at No. 3 in the U.K. Singles Charts and claimed the biggest week of downloads in 2021 so far. It also dominated music charts in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hungary.

BTS Makes A New Record At 2021 American Music Awards

Meanwhile, BTS just made another record during the recently-concluded 2021 American Music Awards. The group of Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga, RM, and V became the first and only Asian act to win the prestigious Artist of the Year award.

Interestingly, BTS attended the 2021 American Music Awards, unlike last year when the band decided to stay at home amid the growing COVID-19 cases at the time. Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga, RM, and V also performed their first-ever collaborative track with Coldplay titled “My Universe.”
