Brooklyn 99 Star Terry Crews Joins the MCU's Guardians of The Galaxy in a Very Surprising Role

Fan-beloved actor Terry Crews will officially make his debut in the MCU, but won't be starring in any films at all. Instead, Crews will appear in the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride, which will open next month at EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort. Crews will be playing Centurion Tal Marik, a close advisor to Nova Prime; starring Glenn Close who is returning to reprise her role from the GOTG franchise.

The first look at Crews' Centurion Tal Marik is below.

While it's unfortunate that we won't see Crews in any Guardians of The Galaxy film, it looks like director James Gunn may have recruited Crews earlier this year after Crews opens up on his love of Rom: The Spaceknight, "Damn! I loved the ROM series…!" Crews said. In a previous tweet, Gunn said that the rights to Rom is not owned by Marvel, but if ever it is, "ol’ toaster head would probably be in the Guardians by now," the director said.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is set to be Disney World's first Marvel-themed ride. While other Disney parks feature notable heroes like the Avengers and other fan-favorite heroes, Disney cannot use most Marvel characters at US parks east of the Mississippi River due to a licensing agreement conflict with Universal Studios. Fortunately, the agreement does not apply to the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The new unique ride is called "storycoaster" that will tell an interactive story of the renowned Guardians of the Galaxy, the Celestial Eson, and the Nova Corps. The coasters can rotate 360 degrees so that the riders witness the story in full view, and it will also be Disney World's first-ever "reverse launch" coaster. More impressively, the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is also set to be one of the longest enclosed coasters in existence.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open on May 27th.
