Brie Larson has been acting and singing for a long time now, with her role in Captain Marvel adding even more to her star power. While it wasn't the best Marvel movie ever made, fans are interested in seeing how she is integrated into more of the MCU, as well as seeing some of her cosmic adventures. It turns out that almost never happened as Larson actually turned down the role a number of times before giving in.
On her YouTube channel, Larson revealed that she turned down the role due to her anxiety and thought her agents were telling Marvel Studios this. However, they contacted her a few months after she turned them down and proceeded to do so again. Apparently, this is due to Larson's agents never fully turning Marvel down, which eventually led to some meetings where the actress was soon won over.
Thankfully, Larson did eventually say yes and we think she did a bang-up job. Sadly, her casting did lead to some asshole fans who complained about her not smiling enough in the promotional material. This is a pretty weird complaint when you consider how none of the Marvel movie posters before her had smiling heroes in them but that's just sexism for you.
Larson is expected to be in the MCU for a few more years so expect to see Captain Marvel 2 sooner or later. The original Captain Marvel can currently be viewed on Disney+ and through Blu-Ray.
