Brie Larson Surprises Marvel Fans During Captain Marvel Screenings

Captain Marvel has one of the biggest openings for an MCU film, beating out the likes of Black Panther and Iron Man 3, and everyone is clearly excited for the arrival of Marvel's first woman superhero. Brie Larson, star of the show, has decided to spend her time surprising people in theaters who were going to check out the film.

Admittedly Captain Marvel has generated a lot of excitement due to its cultural significance. The MCU is one of the most successful box office franchises of all time, and it took 10 years for Marvel to pump out a woman-centric superhero film. Even before the film came out, you can find several videos online of little girls already identifying with Carol Danvers.

When it comes to the quality of the movie though, reactions have been a bit flat when it comes to the critics' end. Personally, I thought that the movie didn't really have too much emotional growth for Carol Danvers, and it felt like a step back to the Marvel formula. I think Larson is very likable in the role though, and Ben Mendelsohn makes for a great villain as always.

If anything, Captain Marvel just needs to inspire, and it clearly did. Hopefully, we get to see her make a more significant growth when it comes to future movies—which I'm sure are already in the works.
