Brie Larson Learned That She’s Stronger Than She Realized Thanks To Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel's always been an inspiring character, even to her own actress Brie Larson.

Speaking in an interview with Variety, the new Marvel star came to realize a lot of things about herself when she started training for the role of Carol Danvers in Marvel's very first female-led superhero movie, Captain Marvel.

Not only did Larson say that playing the character helped her realize the potential of her physical strength, the actress also admits that the role also helped bring out her inner strength as well.

"My highest right now is 215 lbs. in deadlifts. 400 lb. hip thrusts," Larson shared with the entertainment news outlet. "Being able to lift weight like that really changed my perspective and understanding of myself. I will say that I learned that I'm much stronger than I realize in playing her."

Though the development for the film began in 2013, production for Captain Marvel just recently begun this year and Larson had to train a lot for the movie. Carol Danvers might be the actress' most physical demanding role yet, but it's also one of the most empowering roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Carol might not be the first female superhero in the franchise, but she's the first superheroine to receive her own standalone movie and she's also being built up as one of the new faces to lead the franchise.

We can't wait to see Carol in Captain Marvel next year, March 2019.
