Even before Bridgerton Season 2 was released on March 25, 2022, the entire series was already renewed for Season 3 and Season 4 in April 2021. Netflix announced the renewal of the Bridgerton series on its social media pages through a post bearing Lady Whistledown's Society Paper:

The cast and crew of the series are as excited as we are to start the new season. Actor Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony Bridgerton, confirmed that filming for the third season begins in June 2022.

Bridgerton Season 2 took a little over a year for the cast and crew to complete after the first season's release, but with CoVid taking its toll on production, the team has to work hard to meet the predicted deadline.

So, if we follow the same trends and timeline, we can expect Bridgerton Season 3 to be released early in spring or summer 2023.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Phoon explained why it was important for him to audition for Bridgerton.

Bridgerton is totally changing the game, along with shows like Wreck that are just giving room to allow people to see themselves within stories, because I never, until Bridgerton, would have visualised myself in this sort of period-drama setting. It wasn't a thing. I just didn't consider it. So I think it's really cool to have these shows about now.

*Bridgerton Season 2 Spoilers Ahead*

Bridgerton Season 2 was a wild and exciting mix of different stories from the Bridgerton siblings. After much tension and conflict, we finally see Anthony and Kate get the happy ending they deserve. Eloise and Penelope find themselves standing at a crossroads because Eloise finally figured out who Lady Whistledown is. Penelope decides she will keep her quill sharp and her words sharper as she continues writing. She has her heart broken by Colin after she overhears that he has no intentions ever to court Penelope.

By the end of Season 2, we also see Benedict quitting art school and Colin uncovering Lord Featherington's scam. Edwina and her mother will also stay in London.

The entire Bridgerton show is based on a series of books by Julia Quinn. The first two installments of the Netflix series drew inspiration from Quinn's first two books about two of the eight Bridgerton siblings - Daphne and Anthony. If we follow the order of the book series, we can anticipate that Bridgerton Season 3 will be based on the novel An Offer From a Gentleman, which focuses on Benedict Bridgerton. This Cinderella-like story follows the love story between Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Beckett, an earl's daughter who is abused and forced to live like a servant by her evil stepmother, Araminta. Will Araminta succeed in keeping Sophie and Benedict apart?

The original book series follows the birth order of the Bridgerton siblings, with the exception of Daphne, who starred in the first book. However, Netflix and Shonda Rhimes may mix things up and opt to continue the series' plotlines in a different order. If this happens, the siblings whose stories may come next maybe Eloise, Colin, or Benedict because of their subplots in both Season 1 and Season 2.

Bridgerton Season 3 Will Be About Colin and Penelope

In an interview E! News, Nicola Caughlin confirmed that the third season of Bridgerton will be about Penelope and Colin, which means that we are skipping one Bridgerton sibling. Though this messes up the timeline, fans of the Benelope love story are very excited about the show.

Whichever sibling takes center stage in the following seasons, they will surely charm their way into our hearts in classic Bridgerton style.

The production is well underway as the lead stars of the next season give us a glimpse behind the cameras.

Bridgerton Season 3 Synopsis

Netflix released the official synopsis for Bridgerton season 3.

From Shondaland and new showrunner, Jess Brownell, Bridgerton is back for its third season and finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly.
Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly.
Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.

Polin Book Scenes We Want To See

Now that we know who the third season of Bridgerton will be about, there are several scenes from the book we hope will be portrayed in the series.

We want to see how Penelope and Eloise will reconcile since this is a very important friendship in the entire series. We also wish the series will show us how Colin will react once he learns about Penelope's alter ego.

One of our favorite scenes from the book is the Featherington's misunderstanding about who Colin is proposing to, though it involves a character that does not exist in the series. We hope the series creatives find the humor irresistible enough that they include the scene in the show.
