Bridgerton Season 2 Full Trailer Released by Netflix


Today, Netflix has released the full trailer for Bridgerton Season 2 just in time for Valentine's Day. Based on Julia Quinn's novels set in the backdrop of Regency era London, the period drama became a phenomenon after its December 25, 2020 premiere. The source material for the series is created by Chris Van Dusen, and overseen by executive producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers of Shondaland.

Previously, Netflix celebrated Bridgerton's first anniversary by announcing its March premiere date. Previously, the streamer celebrated the show's first anniversary by announcing the March premiere date of Season 2. Netflix then ordered three more seasons of Bridgerton as well as a spinoff series. Between seasons, the show added four new members to the cast, but star Regé-Jean Page, who played Simon Basset, won't return as the show shifts focus to other characters and storylines.

Bridgerton Season 2 will focus more on Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey). His sister, Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), one of the leads of the first season, will still have a significant role in Season 2. The trailer teases the much anticipated romance between Anthony and newcomer Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) while also teasing the drama's Lady Whistledown aspect, the anonymous gossip chronicler who in the Season 1 finale was revealed to be Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

“Dearest Gentle Reader,” the teaser begins, narrated by Julie Andrews, who voices Lady Whistledown. She then goes on to say that as the search to discover who she is has escalated, she's been "honing my skills — no, even better: I’ve been sharpening my knives.”

Then we get to see a medley of images from Season 2, and the trailer concludes on Penelope with pen to paper, as she and Lady Whistledown speak together: “…For all of you.”

Bridgerton Season 2 is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on March 25.
