Brain Works Episode 1 opens with the unfortunate death of a famous guitarist while in the middle of his performance. The case was assigned to the neuroscience team, to which Cha Tae Hyun belongs.
Geum Myung-Se and Seol So-Jung summoned the wife of Kim Jae-won and named her as the main suspect. During the interview, they discovered that the famous guitarist had undergone deep brain stimulation surgery due to Parkinson’s disease. As he found it difficult to play the guitar due to the aftereffects of the surgery, he purchased an illegal high-frequency bracelet and asked his wife to kill him when he shone the most onstage.
Because of the serious case, Myung-Se and So-Jung asked for a simulation and expert advice from Brain Hub, a brain science research institute to which Shin Haru belongs.

As Shin Haru is an obvious big shot in Brain Hub, he becomes too confident that he should be discovering things all by himself. He made a brain donation deal with a psychotic killer named Kang Sung-Ha for his “Psycho Brain Reconstruction Project.” But suddenly, the killer changed his posture and swallowed the donation agreement.
The following day, Kang Sung-Ha committed suicide. And because Shin Haru was too obsessed with studying a psycho’s brain, he pushed himself and forged the brain donation agreement. He performed the autopsy alone but was found out by his colleagues.

Cha Tae Hyun Uncovers The Truth In Brain Works Episode 1
Meanwhile, Myung-Se was silently lying in the place where Shin Haru told him to stay until he returned. There, he heard Haru’s assistant confessing that they had forged the brain donation agreement.
In his drunken state, Myung-Se told the truth about the forgery to his friend, which immediately made the news, kicking out Shin Haru from the Brain Hub. Haru visited the neuroscience team to get revenge on Myung-Se for ruining his career.
