Boba Fett Actor Trashes Jar Jar Binks and Gets Blasted by Fans

While fans may have loved to hate on Jar Jar Binks back when the Prequels came out, there has been a newfound appreciation for actor Ahmed Best and Jar Jar in general. You know who didn't get the memo though? Boba Fett actor Mark Anthony Austin.

Austin had posted this BTS photo of Ahmed Best in Jar Jar gear, trashing on the character:

What Austin didn't expect though, was the backlash of fans who got angry at him for trying to make Best look bad; he probably didn't take into account that this same kind of negative reaction to Jar Jar was the reason that Best had contemplated suicide at one point. Austin's comment sections were riddled with posts like this:

This is certainly a big talk coming from someone who only played Boba Fett for a few seconds in the special edition of Star Wars: A New Hope. When you even put him next to Best, Best is probably the one who has had a more impactful career on Star Wars; besides playing Jar Jar, Best has also made a comeback as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq, the host of Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge.

Needless to say, Austin is likely going to take a break from Twitter for now and is going to be extra careful when it comes to engaging the fandom again:

For now, Star Wars fans are taking a good look at toxicity in the fandom, and are trying to add a little more positivity to the community. Of course, there are still some hate groups out there like The Fandom Menace and Saltier Than Crait, but identifying the problem is the first step to trying to fix this fandom.
