Blumhouse Wants Jamie Foxx to be Spawn in Upcoming Film Reboot

Todd McFarlane's Spawn reboot has been one of the more interesting comic book adaptations in recent memory. The fact that McFarlane and a number of people took pay cuts so that they could afford better effects and actors took many by surprise, showing how much the Image co-creator cares about this project.

It looks like that money could be put to good use, as The Hashtag Show has stated that actor Jamie Foxx is being offered the lead role of Spawn aka Al Simmons.

Foxx hasn't signed on to the role yet but if he does, it would immediately gain interest from the mainstream audience and executives alike. The actor is fairly talented and would be a good fit for the character, though it might be a bit odd since Spawn will mostly be used as a Jaws-like threat.

This isn't Foxx's first time in a superhero movie, as the actor has also appeared in Sony's very flawed Amazing Spider-Man 2, where he played as the villain Electro. While it had a few good qualities, it was mostly a mess and Foxx's character wasn't written particularly well. If he accepts, we can hope that he redeems himself with Spawn.

No release date for Spawn has been revealed.
