Blue Beetle Unveils Its First Teaser Poster

One of the many DCEU films that are on the slate next year is Blue Beetle, a project that was originally meant for release on HBO Max before it shifted into a theatrical film. While production has wrapped a while ago, we still haven't heard a lot of details about the film except that it will center on the Jaime Reyes iteration of the titular hero.

During their recent panel at Comic Con-Experience 2022 in Brazil, Warner Bros. finally released the first teaser poster for Blue Beetle that highlighted the hero's glowing scarab against a black background and confirmed that the film will release in theaters next year.

Shortly after, the poster became available online on social media where DC Studios co-chairman James Gunn also shared it on his accounts.

While the poster didn't give us any official first look at the characters or the story of the film, it is exciting nonetheless since it is their first tangible promotional material and it is a confirmation to the public that the hero is finally arriving in the DCEU and he is coming next year.

The film is also historic in many aspects since it is the first Latino-led DC project. It was also confirmed a while ago that a significant part of the film is in the Spanish language with subtitles. We should be hearing more updates and promotional materials from the film in the coming months leading up to its release in late summer next year.

Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña stars as the titular hero. The cast also includes Susan Sarandon, Harvey Guillen, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Belissa Escobedo, Bruna Marquezin, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, and Raoul Max Trujillo. Angel Manuel Soto directed the film from Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer’s screenplay.
