For those unfamiliar with the manga's last part of the story (so far), Thousand-Year Blood War follows the story of Ichigo Kurosaki and his Soul Reaper companions going on a war against Yhwach and his powerful Quincy army. The first episode is titled The Blood Warfare, which is the same title as the Vol. 15 of the Bleach manga series by Tite Kubo.

As VIZ Media announced, both Hulu and Disney Plus will simulcast new episodes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War when they air on TV Tokyo in Japan. You can check out the release time based in your region here.

The first episode of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War runs for 24 minutes and 27 seconds, and the new anime will run for four cours (quarter of a year), so expect monthly episodes in the upcoming months until next year. Thousand-Year Blood War runs over 200 chapters total in the manga series, and it begins from Chapter 480 and through the end of the manga, which has a total of 698 chapters, so that explains why the anime will run for four cours.

According to Hulu, the description of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Episode 1 reads: "The Soul Society is observing a sudden surge in the number of Hollows being destroyed."
