Blade Star Mahershala Ali Breaks Silence After Eternals Post-Credits Scene Appearance

Warning: This article contains spoilers about the post-credits scene of Eternals.

One of the scenes in Eternals that fans have been talking about is the second post-credits scene that focused on Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) as he opens an old chest that contains the Ebony Blade. Then, we hear the voice of an unseen character who has been identified as Mahershala Ali's Blade, making his long-awaited debut in the MCU.

Speaking with Empire for the first time since the release, Ali discussed his experience doing his voice cameo work as the daywalker in the film. He said, "It was really cool, getting to do that." Then he talked about his mindset as he steps on the role for the first time, "It was scary. Because, you know, you're talking before you're filming it. I'm pretty particular about my choices, like most actors, and so having to make some choices – even with a line, vocally – this early on, it brought up some very real anxieties. And it made the job real. It's like, ‘Okay, this is happening now’, you know, and that's exciting."

He also shared about his excitement about doing the role in the MCU as he is getting closer to playing the character in live-action, "That Marvel world is obviously the biggest in film, and just to get my little introduction to that – starting with the Comic-Con a couple years ago, and now the very early stages of stepping into the shoes of that character – it felt special and really cool. I’m excited to get going and do more." In the end, he teased that they are "getting close" to the production of the solo film.

Fans were delighted when they heard Ali's voice at the end of Eternals as it marked the long-awaited arrival of the daywalker in the MCU. Now, we have his solo film to look forward to which will reportedly start shooting next year. There are also rumors that he might pop up in Moon Knight which is very possible since they are both connected to the supernatural part of the MCU. We obviously can't wait to see him appear in live-action soon.
