Blade Runner 2049 Short Film Reveals What Happens in 2036 as Jared Leto Shows Off A New Replicant


Before Blade Runner hits theaters this October, fans may want to check out this new short film that gives a look at what Jared Leto's villainous character could do. It's called Nexus: 2036, and it features Niander Wallace (Leto) introducing a new line of "perfected replicants" called The Nexus 9, seeking to get the prohibitions on replicant production repealed. This short was directed by Ridley Scott's son, Luke Scott. The short also features Benedict Wong, who starred in Marvel's Doctor Strange. Watch it below: 

The short was premired by Collider. Nexus: 2036 is one of the three short films that will debut ahead of Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049.

 

Synopsis: 

Officer K (Ryan Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who’s been missing for 30 years.

Blade Runner 2049 also stars Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, Mackenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks and Barkhad Abdi. It's set ot release in theaters on October 6.
