Blade Star Mia Goth Addresses the MCU Reboot's Delay: "They Really Care"

Blade star Mia Goth recently addressed the production delay of the highly-anticipated MCU reboot.

The project experienced another setback recently when director Yann Demange exited the movie, making him the second filmmaker to have left the MCU reboot since its development started in 2019.

A recent report also shed light on the project's troubled development as it revealed some of the issues that the production has faced and the various changes that were made in the script.

Mia Goth Reacts to the Blade MCU Reboot Delay

In a recent red carpet interview, Goth, who is still attached to star in the film alongside Mahershala Ali, was asked about the recent status of Blade.

While she didn't directly address the delay and Demange's exit, she assured that the people involved in the project want to "make a great movie."

"They really care, they do. They want to make a great movie. That’s the sense that I get from them and that feels good," the MaXXXine star said.

Goth will reportedly play the role of Lilith, a vampire villain who wanted the blood of Blade’s daughter. It is unknown yet whether it's been changed in the recent rewrie It is unknown yet whether it has changed in the recent rewrittes.

So far, Marvel Studios has not hired a new director for the project, but MCU vet Eric Pearson is currently working on the script throughout the summer and they will find a new filmmaker who will take over once the latest draft is finished.

Despite the recent setbacks that the project has experienced, it is still good to hear encouraging words from the people involved and hopefully, this is the last time that we're hearing another major delay.

In the end, what matters the most is that the final product will live up to the quality and it will be on the same level as some of the best MCU films as fans have been looking forward to the daywalker's official MCU debut.

Blade is still slated for release in theaters on November 7, 2025.
