Blade Finally Joins Marvel’s Avengers – Well At Least In The Comics

It's been years since Blade has been released on the big screen and while many fans are still hoping to see the film get a movie or television reboot, Marvel's been busying itself with the Avengers. A film expected to serve as the culmination of the past ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel is putting a lot of work into Avengers: Endgame.

Despite all of the years of neglect in the live-action movie industry, a new era for the Avengers brings Marvel's greatest heroes and the studio's most popular Daywalker together – well, at least in Marvel's comics.

Black Panther is rebuilding S.H.I.E.L.D. as a brand new organization out of Wakanda in Avengers #10 and it looks like the King of Wakanda is looking for a diverse team of heroes for his project.

According to Screen Rant, Marvel Comics has been building Blade's role in the comic book series for months, and in the 10th issue of the Avengers series we finally get to see everyone's favorite Daywalker being invited to join the Avengers by the Wasp after the hero flew her way to Transylvania for a rescue mission.

Later on, in the series 13th issue, fans finally get to see Blade as an Avenger. Blade returns to the narrative arc in Avengers #13 when rumors of a vampire Civil War wafts around the air.

It's definitely interesting to see Blade fighting alongside the Avengers. Unfortunately, while fans might be hoping to see Blade join the Avengers on the big screen, it seems very unlikely at this point in time. Marvel will still have to reintroduce Blade into the franchise, this time under the MCU banner. With the Avengers celebrating the culmination of the franchise in Avengers: Endgame, the Daywalker just won't be able to catch up.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
