BLACKPINK and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile announced the music video release for their collaboration song, “Ready for Love.”
BLACKPINK unveiled the new track during their in-game concert, BLACKPINK X PUBG MOBILE 2022 IN-GAME CONCERT: THE VIRTUAL, over the weekend. Now, they revealed their plans to release its music video officially.
BLACKPINK’s Collaboration with PUBG Mobile
Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa held their first virtual concert in a collaboration project with PUBG Mobile.
The in-game concert featured the 3D avatars of the four idols doing a special performance that was also seen during the game
YG Entertainment described “Ready to Love” as a song that featured every bit of BLACKPINK style that fans have loved and known over the years.
It’s a pop song filled with a “high tempo drop,” further enhanced by the game’s visuals. The lyrics, alternatively, are about not giving up in the game of love, featuring the group’s signature sound.
“The charming pop song has a cool drop in the chorus that breaks the static flow of its lyrical, piano instrumental,” YG said in a statement about the song.
BLACKPINK’s Virtual Concert
Meanwhile, July 23 and 24 were just two days of the four-day concert. The event will continue on July 30 and 31.
According to Pinkvilla, the virtual concert is part of a campaign where BLINKs can actively participate in an online show that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa’s virtual selves made.

It was reported that more than 5 million registrations were tallied back then, but now, the numbers have gone up to a whopping 9 million ticket holders.
So, many are probably waiting for the release of the “Ready for Love” music video on Friday, July 29, at 12 a.m. EDT or 1 p.m. KST, per Soompi.
BLACKPINK Comeback
“Ready for Love” is the first time fans hear BLACKPINK sing together again after “How You Like That” from the 2020 album, The Album.
Fortunately, fans are about to hear more as their highly-anticipated return will finally happen in August.
On July 6, a YG representative confirmed BLACKPINK was already in the final stages of recording their new yet-to-be-titled album.

They’re also set to shoot their music video this month.
“A lot of music that is BLACKPINK-esque has been completed with much effort over a long period of time. In order to expand BLACKPINK’s emotional connection with fans all over the world, they will set out for the largest-scale world tour in K-pop girl group history until the end of the year along with their comeback,” a source said.
The insider also teased there would be a “big project of that status will continuously follow.”
