BLACKPINK Dethrones Little Mix in a Guinness World Record

Amid BLACKPINK’s BORN PINK world tour, the YG Entertainment girl group successfully became the most-streamed female group on Spotify.

The Guinness World Records official website announced the Shutdown hitmaker’s feat, saying that it scored the title from the British girl group, Little Mix. BLACKPINK currently has 8.8 billion individual streams on Spotify, with How You Like That, Kill This Love and DDU-DU DDU-DU as the top songs with the highest streams.

According to the website, the group — consisting of Rosé, Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo — outshined Little Mix by 400 million streams.

On top of these, the girl group previously scored the Guinness World Records for the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours and the most viewed music video in 24 hours. These records have since been scored by BTS for its hit single, Dynamite.

BLACKPINK Members Have Individual Guinness World Records

While BLACKPINK is already successful as a group, its members have also set records in the past years.

In 2021, Rosé ultimately became the first artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Global chart upon the release of her debut single, On The Ground. She scored the title both as a soloist and a group member.

In January, the MONEY hitmaker, Lisa, set three new Guinness World records, becoming great additions to her first two records: most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo K-pop artist and most viewed YouTube music video by a solo artist in 24 hours.

This year, Lisa holds the title for the first solo K-pop winner at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards for Best K-pop video and the first solo K-pop winner at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards for Best K-Pop.
