Black Widow’s Latest Trailer Reveals A New Iron Maiden Easter Egg

Rachel Weisz might be part of Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson) family in Black Widow, but the actress is also playing Melina Vostokoff, a Marvel character fans mostly know as the Iron Maiden.

While the new trailers for Black Widow don't really paint Melina as a villain, fans expect the character to show her true colors as the Iron Maiden and betray Natasha in the film. Marvel just released the final trailer for Black Widow earlier this week, and according to Screen Rant, halfway through the video, fans get to see an Iron Maiden Easter Egg. Opening the door to her apartment, fans get to see Melina greeting Black Widow. It's a quick scene, but in the background behind Melina, there's an iron Mask hanging on the wall, one that reminds everyone that Melina still is the Iron Maiden.

While we can't be entirely sure whether Melina will betray Natasha in Black Widow, we do know that in the comics, the character is a villain, though a lesser known one. In the 1980s the character was introduced as an enemy of Black Widow. A Russian agent whose skills were outclassed by Black Widow, Melina became Iron Maiden, eventually fighting Natasha Romanoff. The character's also had brief fights with other Marvel heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, and the Thunderbolts.

Will we get to see Melina turn into the Iron Maiden in Black Widow? We can't be entirely sure, so let's just keep our eyes peeled.

Black Widow is going to kick off Phase 4 of the MCU when it premieres on May 1, 2020.
