Black Widow to Feature Thunderbolt Ross?

General ‘Thunderbolt' Ross was introduced in the MCU way back in Phase 1 with The Incredible Hulk, and he basically disappeared for years until he was brought back in Captain America: Civil War. What's interesting is, he could be in the upcoming Black Widow movie.

According to Charles Murphy, William Hurt, who plays Ross in the MCU, has been spotted on the set of the film. This is his post:

Of course, we should take this with a grain of salt. Even if Hurt was on set, it's still possible that the film could cut the role. Then again, with the news that this film takes place after Civil War, it would make sense for Ross to make an appearance. He's probably still out looking for Steve Rogers and his gang of Sokovia Accords violators.

There's also a rumor going around that Marvel is developing a villain-centric movie in the form of Thunderbolts. It's basically like Suicide Squad with Ross set to be the mastermind. We don't know how far along this film is when it comes to development, but I would love to have a return of some old villains, especially counting that Marvel had a terrible track record of forgettable baddies until recently. Give us back Abomination, Leader, and Sam Rockwell's fantastic Justin Hammer.

As for Black Widow, rumor has it that the first trailer will drop before the year ends. It makes sense since the movie is set to come out in early 2020.

Catch Black Widow when it hits theaters May 01, 2020.
