Black Widow Actress Scarlett Johansson Joins Campaign For All-Female Marvel Movie

It looks like Avengers: Endgame star Scarlett Johansson may be joining the campaign for an all-female comic book movie at Marvel. Last week, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson updated fans about the status of the all-woman Marvel movie that she and a few other Marvel stars had been pushing for in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, new reports suggest that Johansson wants to join the fight for an A-Force movie too.

Though it seems rather unlikely that Black Widow will ever get to join the all-woman movie that Larson is pushing for seeing how the Avenger died in Endgame, Johansson recently revealed in an interview that she's pushing for the project in the MCU.

Speaking with Variety, Johansson pledged her allegiance to the campaign, saying that she knows just how the female heroes of Marvel can be a force to reckon with.

"I don't know what my future is in that world. Obviously, it's a little more opaque for my character," Johansson told the entertainment news outlet. "But that group of actresses is so incredibly powerful and when they come together, it's explosive and unstoppable. So yes, I'm pushing for that. I think audiences want it and I'm definitely one of them."

Marvel fans got to have a little taste of what an all-female superhero scene would look like in Endgame. Captain Marvel and the MCU's pantheon of female heroes gather together to take the gauntlet where it needs to go in the climactic sequence of the Avengers: Infinity War sequel, showing fans just how epic women working together can be.
