It goes without saying that Chadwick Boseman's untimely passing in 2020 left a massive void in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but Marvel Studios is still committed to telling the next chapter of Black Panther and honoring T'Challa's legacy in the franchise. Obviously, this means that characters from the franchise must step up but that isn't going to be the case for one actor who is confirmed to be missing in action in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

It was revealed last week that W'Kabi actor Daniel Kaluuya will not reprise his role as T'Challa's best friend and Okoye's love interest in the emotionally-charged Black Panther sequel. Turns out, scheduling conflicts prevented him from appearing in the sequel as he was filming the horror project Nope during the time cameras were rolling for Wakanda Forever and was left without a choice but to withdraw from the MCU flick.

Now, Kaluuya is explaining his side why he didn't confirm his absence from Wakanda Forever sooner. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the multi-awarded star said that he didn't want to disappoint fans who were excited to see W'Kabi back in the MCU.

"If I said anything, people would be really disappointed. That’s how I feel about it. I think people will be disappointed," he said.

It's unfortunate for sure because W'Kabi showed a tremendous amount of potential in the first film and with the sequel centered on finding T'Challa's successor as Black Panther, he could've easily been one of the prime contenders for the mantle.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits cinemas on November 11, 2022.
