Marvel Studios' triumphant return to the San Diego Comic-Con stage was nothing short of epic. As expected, Kevin Feige would lead the studio's panel which highlighted the Marvel Cinematic Universe's upcoming offerings and it turns out that Phase 4 is coming to a close later this year with the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The highly anticipated MCU flick finally delivered the goods and unveiled an emotionally-driven trailer during the momentous SDCC panel. Now, there have been a lot of questions from fans as to what's next for the Black Panther mantle now that T'Challa has gone to the astral plane. Well, the trailer pretty much teased the arrival of the next person hero to assume the position of the Wakandan Avenger.

The closing moments of the trailer featured a mysterious character donning the vibranium suit T'Challa once wore to battle and while it's still a little too early to jump to conclusions, the character in question seems to be none other than T'Challa's younger sister Shuri played by actress Letitia Wright.

Of course, Letitia's upgraded role in the franchise shouldn't come as a shocker because it's definitely a no-brainer that Shuri would become a top contender to take over the Black Panther mantle. We've also proven in the past that aside from being a smart person and an all-around technical wiz, Shuri can also fight.

While it would've also made sense for other characters like M'Baku and even Erik Killmonger to become the next Black Panther, Shuri's personal connection with T'Challa easily makes her the perfect choice for the upgraded role.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits cinemas on November 11, 2022.
