Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Director Hypes Up Rihanna's Lift Me Up

There are still two weeks to wait before Black Panther: Wakanda Forever but fans got an early treat from the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel today. Rihanna's new song for the film Lift Me Up has finally been released and director Ryan Coogler is hyping up the single.

Rihanna's involvement with the MCU film's soundtrack was only confirmed earlier this week and fans were delighted when the singer attended the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever red carpet premiere. It didn't take long before Rihanna herself confirmed that her new single for the soundtrack will be released by Friday, October 28, 2022.

Not surprisingly, Ryan Coogler is excited about Rihanna's new single. The director says that he had always wanted the musician to be a part of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

“Rihanna, man, we knew she was at a point in her life as well where she was focusing on different things — focused on business, motherhood, which is a big theme in our film," Coogler told The Hollywood Reporter. He then pointed out that it was a good thing everything worked out in the end.

"We were holding out hope that maybe it could work out, and boy did it for this song. I can't wait for people to hear it," Coogler said.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will pay tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman who passed away in 2020 and the film will follow the leaders of Wakanda as they deal with the death of their King T'Challa. The movie will bring back Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett. It will also introduce Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, and Tenoch Huerta into the MCU.

Rihanna's new single Lift Me Up is now out. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on November 11, 2022.
