Black Panther Is Now On Netflix

It hasn't been a year since Black Panther's release but it looks like Chadwick Boseman's very first standalone movie as the King of Wakanda has finally made its way to Netflix.

According to a new report by ComicBook.com, Black Panther has finally been made available for streaming on Netflix, arriving today, September 4. One of the biggest blockbuster movies this year, Black Panther was a force to reckon with when it charged through Hollywood earlier this year. Not only was the film the very first standalone movie for a black superhero, but it was the first predominantly black-cast comic book movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Panther was a cultural phenomenon. The film was loved by fans and by critics, earning a 97 percent fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. It also enjoyed a whole lot of commercial success, making more than $202 million during its opening weekend – the third largest weekend opening in the MCU behind The Avengers and Avengers: Infinity War.

The film also did very well for itself at the global box office, becoming the 33rd film in Hollywood history to cross the $1 billion mark less than a month after its premiere.

Now, Black Panther is finally on Netflix. The film is one of the final movies set for the streaming platform before Disney launches its own streaming service in 2019.
