It goes without saying that Chadwick Boseman's untimely death in 2020 left a huge void in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and despite the studio's desire to move forward, it can't be denied that since his passing, Kevin Feige and his crew have had a hard time working on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which has been plagued with several production issues over the last couple of months.
For starters, the project's filming had to be put on hold after Letitia Wright suffered an on-set injury last November which was far more severe than originally expected. Rumor has it that Wright's character Shuri is the frontrunner to become the next Black Panther and while fans were down with the idea initially, the controversy surrounding her alleged anti-vax views has changed a lot of people's opinions about her leading the franchise.
Long before the Shuri rumors, there has been major speculation that Boseman will end up getting recast in the billion-dollar franchise. However, the Marvel Studios boss previously ended all the hearsay, claiming that Boseman's iconic MCU character won't be replaced. Still, that didn't stop fans from putting all the pressure on the production company to look for Boseman's replacement.

While I agree that there are still tons of stories for T'Challa waiting to be told, personally, I'm not that keen on the idea of Boseman being recast in the MCU. If anything, it will only create more complications to what has already been a complicated sequel. Besides, Chadwick's potential replacement will only be dragged by the fandom, and comparisons to his successor cannot be avoided. I totally get how most fans would like to see his legacy live on but there are other ways to do that.
