Black Panther, Avengers: Endgame Star Chadwick Boseman Passes Away at 43


It is a truly tragic day in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Chadwick Boseman's passing has just been confirmed through an official statement that was posted on his social media accounts. The Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War star was 43.

The statement came with an image of Boseman that was taken by photographer Sam Jones. You can find it below.

⁣"Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV," the statement reads. ⁣"A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy."

The statement confirms that Boseman passed away in his own home in the company of his wife and children.

Interestingly, Boseman's passing was confirmed on Jackie Robinson Day, which is being celebrated on August 28 this year. Boseman portrayed the legendary baseball player in the 2013 film 42.

In addition to playing T'Challa in the MCU films, Boseman has portrayed real-life heroes in his short yet stellar career. His first major role was as the football player Floyd Little in The Express: The Ernie Davis Story. Boseman also played James Brown in Get On Up as well as the civil rights activist Thurgood Marshall in Marshall.
