The future of the Black Panther franchise may still be shrouded in mystery but one thing's for certain, Marvel Studios is determined to usher in a new era for the Wakandan hero as a way of honoring the legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman. As it stands, we still don't know what transpires in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever but rumor has it that the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe project will introduce a new Black Panther.

The real question is, which character will it be? As it stands, both Winston Duke and Letitia Wright are reportedly the frontrunners to take over for Chadwick. Now, new promotional artwork for the franchise's Phase 4 seems to put some legitimacy to the said rumors.

Total Film just released an astonishing new promo image featuring some of Phase 4's show-stealers like Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, and Thor who sports his new look and his returning Mjolnir. Interestingly, the artwork also sees M'Baku, Shuri, and what looks to be a silhouette of T'Challa, seemingly implying that the two will face off for the right to become the new Black Panther. Considering Marvel Studios seems to be pushing their women empowerment "agenda" and with the A-Force project rumored to be in development, it would make complete sense for Shuri to become her brother's successor. I gotta say though, M'Baku's redemption story sounds more compelling and I wouldn't have any issues if he becomes the next Black Panther. Let's see how Marvel handles the situation.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently slated for release on November 11, 2022.
