Black Panther 2: First Look at Long-Awaited Namor Seemingly Revealed

The sequel to 2018's multi-awarded Black Panther is finally slated for this year. And ever since Narcos: Mexico actor Tenoch Huerta was cast in a mysterious villain role for the sequel, fans instantly predicted that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would be Namor The Sub-Mariner's debut in the MCU.

A recent report from Illuminerdi proclaims that Huerta will indeed play Namor in the Black Panther sequel and that two 'Mayan Warriors' were cast in a prominent role for Namor's arc, with codenames Zyenya and Cadmael. Zyenya is assumed to be Namora, Namor's cousin starring Mabel Cadena, while Cadmael is a codename for Attuma, an Atlantean Warlord.

Although it appears that Namor's debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now an open secret, fans still want to know what the Atlantean would look like in the MCU.

Now, The Den of Nerds seemingly leaked a promotional material for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which offers a first look at how Namor would look in a Mayan origin costume.

Following the surprising leak, MyTimeToShine also shared a fan-made visual representation that imagines how Namor would possibly look like in the Black Panther sequel.

Rumors also swirled that MCU Namor would have a different back story compared to his comic book origins, suggesting that Namor would instead come from a historical city submerged in Mexican culture. Much like Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa, Namor is the son of the queen of the submerged people trying to prove himself to the throne.

Altering Namor's origin might be a wise decision for Marvel Studios, preventing people who might get dissatisfied about Namor to be just a Marvel rip-off of DC's Aquaman, which clearly isn't. As much as Marvel still tries to hold details about the upcoming anti-hero, it looks extremely obvious that Namor would be a thrilling villain for the upcoming sequel.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit the big screens on November 11.
