I think it's already safe to say that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has taken the DC Universe by storm and as Black Adam continues its impressive box office streak, fans are excited to see what the ex-WWE megastar has in store for the franchise's future. Of course, you can't win everyone in the DCU fandom and some fans have an issue with the actor's creative decisions.

A lot of people are specifically irked by the fact that Johnson's anti-hero seems to be targeting Superman, even setting up a crossover film during Black Adam's mid-credits scene. While both characters have indeed had run-ins in the comics and other media, longtime fans are well aware that Black Adam's biggest foe will always be Shazam.

Intriguingly, when asked what's next for Black Adam in the DCU, The Rock has constantly stated that he wants to see him go up against groups such as the Justice League and even the Suicide Squad, with the Earth's Mightiest Mortal seemingly being left behind.

Now, a new report claims that Johnson wants nothing to do with Zachary Levi's fun-loving hero and the actor apparently has "thinly veiled disdain" for the Shazam! franchise. An insider tells The Wrap: "Safran needs to win over all the other filmmakers...and Dwayne Johnson's thinly veiled disdain for Shazam means he probably isn't loving the idea that his boss is now the guy that produces 'Shazam.' Safran is pretty diplomatic, so I think he will pull it off but it won't be easy."

Of course, the report remains unproven so take it with a grain of salt. However, it does seem a bit odd that Black Adam would choose to target everyone else in the DCU before Shazam, unless of course, Billy Batson is the long-term plan.

DC's Black Adam is still screening in cinemas worldwide.
