Black Adam Adds Young Rock Actor Uli Latukefu in Mystery Role

The cast of Black Adam just got a little bit more interesting. Young Rock actor Uli Latukefu has just been confirmed to play a mysterious new character in the Dwayne Johnson movie.

Deadline reports that Latukefu will be joining the cast of Black Adam. However, the Alien: Covenant star's role has not yet been revealed. Considering that Latukefu plays the college football era Johnson in Young Rock, some believe that he may have been cast as a younger version of Black Adam.

Latukefu is just one of several new actors who will be joining Black Adam. It was previously confirmed that Pierce Brosnan will play Doctor Fate in the DC Extended Universe movie. The latest cast addition was Mo Amer although his role was undisclosed.

Latukefu had previously played Kublai Khan's bastard son Byamba in Netflix's Marco Polo and Cole in Alien: Covenant. Interestingly, he was a contestant on the reality singing show Australian Idol back in 2004. His latest project is Taika Waititi's Next Goal Wins, which follows the American Samoan soccer team in their quest for victory.

Black Adam is currently in production as confirmed by Johnson himself. Needless to say, the new cast members are expected to begin filming as soon as possible. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Black Adam is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and also stars Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui. The film is scheduled for release on July 29, 2022.
