Birds of Prey Movie Won't Include Jared Leto's Joker in Any Way

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is coming out next month, making it the first major superhero movie of 2020 and fans are pretty hyped up for it. Fans have been interested in Harley Quinn for a long time now and the fact that this movie will deal with her outside of a toxic relationship with The Joker is great since Suicide Squad kind of romanticized that relationship, which is no good.

Rest assured that we won't be seeing Jared Leto as Joker in this movie, as Birds of Prey star and producer Margot Robbie confirmed to Variety that he isn't making an appearance. Leto won't even appear in a flashback, which is quite impressive since they could have easily used some of the extra footage David Ayer originally shot for Suicide Squad.

Considering how the DC Universe Harley Quinn series is already dealing with a similar subject, it's probably good that Joker won't be appearing in the movie. Granted, they could always shoot a post-credits sequence that has Joker hatching a plan to kill his ex-girlfriend but we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully, the movie lives up to our expectations since the DCEU films have been on an upwards slope since Aquaman.

Birds of Prey will be coming to theaters on February 7, which is closer than ever these days. Can you believe it's 2020 already? Me neither.
